珠颈斑鸠Spotted Dove

颈侧有一大块黑底白点的斑纹，像戴了一圈珍珠项圈，「珠颈」由此得名。这是园中最容易近距离观察的鸟——它对人相当宽容，常在园路和草地上不慌不忙地踱步觅食。A large patch of white spots on black on each side of the neck looks like a pearl necklace, which gives it its Chinese name, “pearl-necked dove”. It is the easiest bird in the park to watch up close — quite tolerant of people, it often strolls unhurriedly along paths and lawns looking for food.

主要吃草籽和落地的谷物。叫声是低沉而有节奏的「咕咕——咕」，节奏平稳，很多人误以为是鸽子。它的巢做得极其简陋，只是几根树枝随意搭在枝杈上，有时从下方甚至能看见蛋。It mainly eats grass seeds and fallen grain. Its call is a low, rhythmic “coo-coo — coo”, steady enough that many people mistake it for a pigeon. Its nest is remarkably flimsy — just a few twigs laid loosely across a fork — and sometimes you can even see the eggs from below.
